I won the Academy of Chocolate Bronze Award in the category ‘dark bean to bar over 80%’ for my 100% Solomon Island Bean to Bar Chocolate.

It was a great experience to be surrounded by people with a mutual appreciation for fine chocolate, and was an amazing achievement to win such a prestigious award in the first year of starting my business.

The Academy of Chocolate Awards highlights the vast difference between fine chocolates and confectionery chocolates that mask the flavours of beans with fat and sugar, and really recognises the importance of ‘putting the beans back into chocolate’, which is a message my company is based on. It was inspiring to be recognised for my commitment to ethically sourced chocolates through direct trade and is a platform to promote sustainability in the communities I work with.
